Dr. Victor Ospina has been a professional nurse for more than 20 years and an employee at Baptist Health South Florida for 26 years. He began his nursing career as an associate’s degree nurse from Miami Dade College, earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Barry University, and completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Ospina is currently the corporate director for the Baptist Health South Florida Nursing & Health Sciences Research Department,where he strongly promotes an environment of inquiry for nurses and other disciplines.He has been instrumental in developing nursing and allied health programs as well as academic partnerships.
Dr. Ospina is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an acute care nurse practitioner and by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. He has served on the board and currently oversees the Advisory Council for the Nursing Consortium of South Florida and is a current member of various national and local nursing organizations.
In his spare time, Dr. Ospina satisfies his passion for teaching as an adjunct professor and continues his immersion in clinical practice as a nurse practitioner.
